For those who desire to pay homage to two awesome Visionary Women; do make note of these two sisters.
Zora Neal Hurston (January 7, 1891 - January 28, 1960) was born in Alabama. Her family moved to the United State's first all Black incorporated township of Eatonville, Florida, when she was just a toddler. She published four novels, two books of folklore, an autobiography, many short stories, and several articles and plays over a 30 year career span. She attended Howard University and Barnard College, where she became recognized as America's first Black female Anthropologist.
Eartha Kitt (January 17, 1927 - December 25, 2008) was born in North, South Carolina. An actress, songstress, dancer; she stated that she owed her longevity to growing her own food and raising her own chickens, even when she lived in Los Angeles, CA.
